Join us on Saturday, September 21 for the third annual Focus on the Fox event. This FREE family-focused event will include many different ways to celebrate and enjoy the Fox River. The event will take place in and around the 1000 Islands Environmental Center and provide you and your family an opportunity to explore, learn, and even get a little wet!

- 10:00 – 12:00 Fox River Clean-up with Amcor
- 10:00 – 12:00 Aquascope Adventures – search for aquatic species using aquascopes provided by Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance
- 10:45 – 3:00 Fox Lock Demonstration – Kaukauna Lock #3 will have lock tenders showing how the lock chamber works. Shuttle Service by Kobussen Buses will be available.
- 10:00 – 2:00 Paper Making
- 10:00 – 3:00 Learn to Fish with the Kaukauna High School Fishing Team
- 10:00 – 3:00 Photo Scavenger Hunt – connect the river to many different parts of our lives and environment plus earn a chance for prizes!

Other Activities
- Friends of 1000 Islands Information Booth – learn about the organization and how you can become a member. Find out how you can enter to win a prize!
- J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue – surrender an exotic pet that you can no longer care for. Only fish, plants, birds, and reptiles will be accepted.
- Kaukauna Utilities – Hop on the Kaukauna Utilities pedal power bike to feel the effort required to light a bulb, heat water, or spin a motor.
- Kaukauna Public Library – explore a pop-up library, take a Storybook Walk on the boardwalk trail, and learn more about indigenous groups that utilize the Fox River. Enjoy strawberry bergamot iced tea and take home a plantain salve while supplies last.
- Grignon Mansion – learn about fur trading and the importance of the Fox River for travel, resources for indigenous people and the Grignons.
- Food Stand and Bake Sale – all proceeds go directly to support 1000 Islands Environmental Center.
