Field Trips and Field Experiences
Visitors of all ages from preschool through senior citizens will benefit from experiential and educational visits to 1000 Islands. Our naturalists work with the teacher or group leader to ensure programs and activities supplement and enhance classroom curricula or group interests.
We offer half-day and full-day Field Trips. The cost for a half-day Field Trip is $3/student ($50 minimum fee) and $5/student ($75 minimum fee) for a full day. Please refer to the Program Guide for more pricing information.

Educator Loan Program

Cub Scouts
Join an achievement-based program designed by our naturalists to meet adventure requirements. Adventures are currently offered for Bears, Wolves, and Webelos.
Eagle Scout Projects

Girl Scouts

Events
Eagle Days
Eagle watching along the lower Fox River can be spectacular. 1000 Islands has always been an ideal area each winter to watch eagles either perched in large trees along the water’s edge or soaring above. They are drawn to areas of open water in search of fish, their preferred food. Early morning or sunset is a prime time during the day to see eagles flying and fishing.
Each year, on the 4th Saturday in January 1000 Islands hosts Eagle Days. Eagle lovers of all ages come to watch eagles fishing, soaring overhead, or roosting in nearby trees. Eagle Days is a family day and we provide an educational program featuring a live bald eagle. Other activities include a full-size replica of an eagle’s nest, hands-on eagle activities, children’s crafts, a coloring contest, door prizes, and more. All activities are free.
Eagle Days 2025 will be taking place on Saturday, January 25th, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 1000 Islands.
Focus on the Fox
The Fox River is a major resource in the area and the main focus of the 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone. It has been central to our history, industry, and environment. In celebration of World Rivers Day, 1000 Islands Environmental Center will hold its second Focus on the Fox event to highlight the wonderful resource that we have right here in our backyard.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10 AM until 3 PM and will feature a river cleanup, nature hikes, fishing, a scavenger hunt, and more. This is a free, family-focused event. All are welcome to attend!
