What is a River Clean-up?
A river clean-up event coordinates volunteers to remove garbage and debris that threatens our river and watershed areas. The clean-up aims to build a sense of community and increase understanding of the environmental stewardship necessary to improve water quality in our region. Volunteers from Amcor are coordinating the river clean-up along the 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers spend the morning cleaning up garbage and debris in an assigned area. Clean-up materials are provided, but volunteers should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Work gloves are welcome if you have them. Make it a family event or volunteer with a group of friends. After the clean-up, stick around to participate in the rest of the Focus on the Fox activities. It will be a day of fun for the whole family!
How to participate?
Stop by the clean-up table to receive trash collection bags and instructions. No registration is requested for the clean-up. If you have any questions, please call 920-766-4733.
