Food Stand by the Friends of 1000 Islands

Spend the day and enjoy some lunch

The Friends of 1000 Islands will be hosting a food stand to keep you energized for exploration. As a commitment to keeping our rivers and other natural areas clean, single use bottled water will not be available at the food stand. Please plan ahead and bring water or use your free reusable water bottle provided at the event (while supplies last) to fill at the water bottle filling station. All proceeds from the food stand will go to the Friends of 1000 Islands which supports the 1000 Islands Environmental Center with operating costs, maple syrup production and other special projects.

Annual Art Fair

Each year, the Friends group host an Art Fair where over 50 nature inspired artist and crafters gather to sell their one-of-a-kind creations. A raffle, food tent and bake sale are also part of this event. To be considered as a vendor, please email thousandisland@kaukauna-wi.org.

The Nature Images Arts and Craft Fair was held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 on the grounds of 1000 Islands Environmental Center. It was a beautiful day and the Art Fair was a huge success. Our art vendors had fantastic sales, the bake sale sold out shortly after noon, and the band Forté and the Pianissimos was awesome as usual and entertained everyone!

We couldn’t have held the Art Fair without the great support of our very generous sponsors. They included East Wisconsin Savings Bank, McCarty Law, Randerson Heating and Cooling, ATCAM, Enterprise Electric, Kwik Trip, and StoneRidge Piggly Wiggly.

Maple Syrup

Making maple syrup each spring has been a long tradition at 1000 Islands. Volunteers tap maple trees, in the Conservancy Zone and in the City of Kaukauna, collect the sap and boil it down in our Sugar Shack to make maple syrup. Canning the maple syrup in pint and quart jars completes the process. Maple syrup is available to the public in our Gift Shop. To volunteer with making maple syrup each spring, please email thousandisland@kaukauna-wi.org.

2022 Maple Syrup Available

We have an ample supply of maple syrup this year in pint and quart jars. Please stop at the Gift Shop within the Nature Center building for some.
