On Friday, November 1, 2024, Phase 1 of the 1000 Islands Boardwalk Trail Reconstruction Project commenced. This phase involved replacing the aging boardwalk with a wider structure, incorporating toe rails and additional railings to enhance accessibility and safety. The section of the boardwalk near the Fox River, which constituted Phase 1, was successfully completed on January 11, 2025.
Radtke Contractors Inc. will resume work on Phase 2 of the trail reconstruction following the Eagle Days event on Saturday, January 25.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous funding sources, whose invaluable support, along with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, has made the 1000 Islands Boardwalk Trail Reconstruction Project possible. Your contributions have been instrumental in advancing this initiative, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to enhancing our community’s natural spaces.
