Fox River Cleanup

What is a River Clean-up?

A river clean-up event coordinates volunteers to remove garbage and debris that threatens our river and watershed areas. The clean-up aims to build a sense of community and increase understanding of the environmental stewardship necessary to improve water quality in our region. The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance is coordinating the river clean-up along the 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone. Learn more about the organization and their mission here.

What do volunteers do?

Volunteers spend the morning cleaning up garbage and debris in an assigned area. Clean-up materials are provided, but volunteers should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Work gloves are welcome if you have them. Make it a family event or volunteer with a group of friends. After the clean-up, stick around to participate in the rest of the Focus on the Fox activities. It will be a day of fun for the whole family!

How to participate?

Registration is requested for the clean-up. You can register your group here. As an alternative, you can call 920-766-4733.
