1000 Islands is once again bringing goats from Mulberry Lane Farm to help manage invasive plants on the Conservancy Zone from June 12 until June 26, 2023. This popular program is a crowd favorite and there a ways that you can be involved! Consider purchasing some Goat Team apparel through Eagle Graphics or sign up to be a Volunteer Goat Watcher.
Apparel comes in a variety of colors and styles and is ordered directly through our online store. Orders will be available to pick up at the Nature Center while the goats are here in June. The online store closes on May 17 at 11:59 PM. Proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will benefit 1000 Islands and our conservation projects like the goats. Place your order today!

Another way to support the project is to sign up as a Volunteer Goat Watcher. Volunteers are responsible to keeping an eye on the goats in their browsing area during the day and chatting with visitors about the project. Volunteers are welcome to go inside the browsing enclosures to encourage the goats to eat he unwanted plants by bending branches or simply leading them to new areas for browsing. No prior knowledge is needed. A short training video will be provided for all volunteers.

Whether you order Goat Team apparel or have the time to volunteer we encourage everyone to stop down and see the goats in action. They are typically out in the browsing enclosures, along the boardwalk trail, between 8 AM and 5 PM everyday. Please note that weather or other unexpected circumstances may cause us to alter this timeframe without notice.
