March 18, Saturday KIWANIS PANCAKE & PORKIE BREAKFAST 9 AM - 12 PM Stop down for a delicious breakfast put on by the Kaukauna Kiwanis club and taste some 1000 Islands maple syrup. Visitors will also be encouraged to head outside and learn about the maple syrup making process. Tickets for the breakfast can be purchased at the door. The hike is free and open to all.
March 28, Tuesday SEED STARTING WORKSHOP 6:30 PM Learn the proper technique and timing for starting your garden plants from seed. The program will include some great info for adults as well some fun stories for kids. Everyone will leave with some planted seeds to care for.
May 13, Saturday BIO BLITZ 8 AM - 12 PM Join us for a brand new program where you get to be the scientist.  Walk the trails taking pictures of as many different plant and animal species as you can find with your smart phones or other mobile devices.  Staff and volunteers can help with identification and submitting data to iNaturalist for a fun way to learn about the flora and fauna found at 1000 Islands. NEW! As part of our Bio Blitz event we will have programs specific to different areas of nature.  Join us at 10:30 for a program on freshwater mussels, 12:30 to learn about birds and International Migratory Bird Day, and 2:00 to learn about bats.
May 21, Sunday 35TH ANNUAL NATURE’S IMAGES ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Fine art, crafts, music, food and raffles to benefit the Friends of the 1000 Islands.
June 10, Saturday VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION & TRAINING 9:00-11:00 AM All ages. Under 14 should be accompanied by an adult. Interested in becoming a 1000 Islands Volunteer?  Join us to learn what it is all about!
June 13, Tuesday CRAYFISH & CRITTER HUNT for all ages, 9:30 -11:00 AM.  Wear water or tennis shoes to walk in the water.
June 15, Thursday NATURE HELPERS for school age children, 1:30-2:30 PM. Join us at the Kaukauna Public Library for stories and activities on ways we can all be nature helpers.
June 20, Tuesday BIRD HOUSE BUILDING for all ages, 9:30-10:30 AM.  Call 766-4733 to register at least 2 weeks in advance of date.  Bring a Hammer.  Donation $1.00
June 22, Thursday ECO-EXPLORERS For school age children, 1:30-2:30 PM. Each day participants will learn about a different environmental topic through a combination of games, crafts and hands-on activities. This is a multi-day series of programs. Participants can come to as many or few as your schedule allows. Call 766-4733 to register at least 1 week in advance of date.
July 11, Tuesday CRAYFISH & CRITTER HUNT for all ages, 9:30 -11:00 AM.  Wear water or tennis shoes to walk in the water.

July 20, Thursday BUG BONANZA for under 10 years, 10:00 AM.  Learn more about insects, arachnids and other creepy crawlies then go on a bug hunt to see how many of them you can find.

August 12, Saturday HOT DOG ROAST AND NIGHT HIKE for families and adults, 8:00-9:30 PM.  Begin the evening with a hot dog roast around the campfire followed by a guided hike after the sun sets.  Bring your own food.  Campfire and roasting sticks will be provided.
August 23, Wednesday NATURE HELPERS for school age children, 1:30-2:30 PM. Join us at the Kaukauna Public Library for stories and activities on ways we can all be nature helpers.
August 24, Thursday ECO-EXPLORERS For school age children, 1:30-2:30 PM As the final session of Eco-Explorers, all participants will showcase what they learned over the summer for family and friends. See June 22 for more information. Call 766-4733 to register at least 1 week in advance of date.
August 28, Monday KAUKAUNA PUBLIC LIBRARY FAIRY WALK for all ages, 5:00-7:30 PM.  Walk a short trail viewing Fairy Houses built by Kaukauna Public Library patrons.  Take part in Fairy activities, crafts and vote for your favorite house.
