March 10, Saturday KIWANIS PANCAKE & PORKIE BREAKFAST 9 AM - 12 PM Stop down for a delicious breakfast put on by the Kaukauna Kiwanis club and taste some 1000 Islands maple syrup. Visitors will also be encouraged to head outside and learn about the maple syrup making process. Tickets for the breakfast can be purchased at the door. The hike is free and open to all.
March 27, Tuesday SEED STARTING WORKSHOP 6:30 PM Learn the proper technique and timing for starting your garden plants from seed. The program will include some great info for adults as well some fun stories for kids. Everyone will leave with some planted seeds to care for.
May 12, Saturday BIO BLITZ 10 AM - 12 PM Help celebrate International Migratory Bird Day with a program  where you get to be the scientist. Walk the trails taking pictures of as many different, plant  and animal species as you can find with your smart phones or other mobile devices. Visitors  will also be able to learn more about migratory birds with some hands-on activities inside  the nature center.
May 20, Sunday 36TH ANNUAL NATURE’S IMAGES ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Fine art,  craft, music, food and raffles to benefit the Friends of the 1000 Islands.
May 22, Tuesday SOUNDS OF NATURE for adults and families, 6:30-7:30 PM. Join local naturalist and author,  Rob Zimmer, as he takes us through all the different sounds found throughout our natural  world.
June 2, Saturday VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION & TRAINING 1:00-3:00 PM All ages. Under 14 should be  accompanied by an adult. Interested in becoming a 1000 Islands Volunteer? Join us to learn  what it is all about!
June 12, Tuesday CRAYFISH & CRITTER HUNT for all ages, 9:30 -11:00 AM. Wear water or tennis shoes to  walk in the water.
June 14, Thursday NATURE ROCKS! for school age children, 1:30-2:30 PM. Join us at the Kaukauna Public  Library for stories and activities about nature.
June 26, Tuesday BIRD HOUSE BUILDING for all ages, 9:30-10:30 AM. Call 766-4733 to register at least 2  weeks in advance of date. Bring a Hammer. Donation $1.00
June 28, Thursday CRAYFISH & CRITTER HUNT for all ages, 9:30 -11:00 AM. Wear water or tennis shoes to  walk in the water.
June 28, Thursday BIRD BRAINS For school age children, 1:30-2:30 PM. Celebrate 2018 as the year of the bird  with 1000 Islands! Each day participants will learn about a different group of birds through  a combination of games, crafts and hands-on activities. Be prepared to be amazed at this  amazing group of animals. This is a multi-day series of programs. Participants can come to  as many or few as your schedule allows. Call 766-4733 to register at least 1 week in  advance of date.
July 10, Tuesday CRAYFISH & CRITTER HUNT for all ages, 9:30 -11:00 AM. Wear water or tennis shoes to  walk in the water.
July 12, Thursday BUG BONANZA for under 10 years, 10:00 AM. Learn more about insects, arachnids and  other creepy crawlies then go on a bug hunt to see how many of them you can find.

August 11, Saturday CAMPFIRE AND NIGHT HIKE for families and adults, 8:00-9:30 PM. Begin the evening with  roasting hot dogs or marshmallows around the campfire followed by a guided hike after the  sun sets. Bring your own food. Campfire and roasting sticks will be provided.
August 22, Wednesday NATURE ROCKS! for all ages, 10:00-11:00 AM. Join us at the Kaukauna Public Library for  stories and activities about nature.
August 24, Friday WISCONSIN BATS For families and adults, 7:00-8:30 PM Learn about the different species  of bats found in Wisconsin and some of the threats they face. Inside program will be  followed by an interpretive nature hike on the trail.
August 27, Monday KAUKAUNA PUBLIC LIBRARY FAIRY WALK for all ages, 5:00-7:30 PM. Walk a short trail  viewing Fairy Houses built by Kaukauna Public Library patrons. Take part in Fairy  activities, crafts and vote for your favorite house.
